He was speaking to the media in an interview in Luangwa District.
Dr Munga’mbata has explained that health care providers will be going around the community to provide health services.
“Health care providers will carry out services such as HIV check-ups, nutrition, deworming, vitamin A supplementation and immunisation targeting over 7000 children,” he explained.
Dr Munga`mbata has disclosed that this coming Child Health Week will be the first which will include malaria vaccination.
He says the exercise will commence on 26th October, 2026 and will end on 30th October, 2026.
Luangwa District Health Promotions Officer Dasty Mungoni has appealed to stakeholders to continue supporting the programme, adding that this has enabled the district to record a reduction in the number of ailments in children.
Mr Mungoni says that all those that missed the last child health week should ensure that their children are attended to.
“We are urging all those that missed the last Child Health Week to ensure that their children receive the immunisations and supplements,” he said.
