Frustration over prolonged delays in the STGT-2022 recruitment process spilled into the open on Wednesday as candidates renewed their demand for the immediate publication of results and completion of appointments, claiming they have been left in uncertainty for nearly six years despite having appeared for the examination through the prescribed process.
A group of aspirants visited Shiksha Bhavan and sought to submit a deputation to STGT Chairman Pratyush Ranjan Deb. However, they were unable to meet him as he was not present at the office. Later, speaking to the media, the candidates voiced their grievances and appealed to the state government to expedite the recruitment process.
According to the aspirants, they had appeared for the STGT examination in 2022 following the official recruitment notification. However, the selection process allegedly became entangled in legal disputes relating to the reservation policy, resulting in a prolonged delay. They claimed that even after a court verdict concerning the matter, the recruitment process remained unresolved, further extending their wait for appointments.
Several candidates expressed deep disappointment over the uncertainty surrounding their future, arguing that they had complied with all requirements and participated in the examination in good faith. Some became emotional while describing the impact of the delay on their careers, personal lives and long-term plans.
The aspirants also pointed out that recruitment processes for more recent candidates are progressing, with many receiving appointment letters, while the pending STGT-2022 recruitment remains incomplete. While welcoming opportunities for newer candidates, they urged the authorities not to overlook those who have been waiting for years.
Appealing directly to Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, the concerned authorities and the STGT Chairman, the candidates demanded the early declaration of results and completion of all remaining recruitment formalities.
