Houston, Texas.- Tourism Minister David Collado led the Dominican Republic’s 124th international tourism roadshow on Thursday in Houston, Texas, where he met with more than 200 travel agents, tour operators, airline representatives and other tourism industry stakeholders.
Collado presented the country’s tourism offerings and highlighted Houston as a strategic market with strong growth potential and connectivity to the Dominican Republic.
“We are here with you presenting not just a destination, but an unforgettable experience,” Collado said.
He noted that Houston ranks fifth among the Dominican Republic’s priority markets in its international tourism promotion strategy, underscoring the importance of strengthening the country’s presence in the city.
During the event, Collado also held meetings with tourism industry representatives to strengthen commercial ties, expand business opportunities and promote the Dominican Republic as both a vacation and investment destination.
Travel agents remain a key part of the strategy. The Ministry of Tourism has more than 35,000 agents registered on its DO Travel Rewards platform, which provides information on the country’s tourism offerings and encourages their promotion in international markets.
The Houston event is part of the ministry’s efforts to strengthen the Dominican Republic’s international tourism position, diversify source markets and expand opportunities for continued sector growth.
