Zelenskyy is participating as a specially invited guest at the opening of today's EU summit in Brussels.
"I am happy to be here. I am grateful that we have such enormous support from the EU, the Council, the Commission and the leaders - real leaders," the president says on his way in.
The main topic of today's talks will be energy and how Ukraine should prepare for the difficult months ahead.
The winter package is not only about the economy, but also air defence and financial support, says Zelenskyy.
Last week, Ukraine was allowed to open two more so-called negotiation clusters in its negotiations on future EU membership.
Now the goal is to also open the last two clusters before the end of the year, says Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
Council President António Costa also says the EU's support is firm.
"The EU's support for Ukraine remains as strong as ever. This is not the time to withdraw support for Ukraine or reduce pressure on Russia," says Costa.
