He urged soldiers to maintain vigilance, discipline and intelligence-led operations to counter security threats and strengthen peace and stability in the Boni Enclave.
Kamoiro emphasised the importance of protecting critical national infrastructure, particularly the Lamu Port-South Sudan-Ethiopia Transport (LAPSSET) Corridor and the proposed Dangote East Africa petroleum refinery in Lamu.
He noted that maintaining a secure environment would be essential to protecting workers and surrounding communities while supporting the implementation of the major development projects.
The visit underscored the military’s role in creating a stable environment for infrastructure development and safeguarding Kenya’s strategic interests in the region.
Commander addresses troops’ welfare
Beyond security operations, Kamoiro reminded soldiers that their personal wellbeing was central to effective military service.
He encouraged personnel to exercise financial discipline, make prudent investments and use the KDF mortgage scheme responsibly. He also cautioned against gambling, predatory lending and drug abuse, warning that such practices could undermine individual welfare, discipline and operational performance.
The commander further stressed the importance of physical fitness, good health and responsible management of military equipment and logistical resources to sustain operational readiness.
He also conveyed the Chief of the Defence Forces’ message during the KDF Day celebrations, reaffirming the military leadership’s commitment to supporting personnel serving in operational areas.
Kamoiro recognised the sacrifices and resilience of deployed troops, urging them to remain professional and committed to their mission.
