MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) will implement a work-from-home arrangement every Monday, as part of the government’s energy-saving efforts.
In an announcement on Tuesday, Oct. 20, the poll body said the arrangement would take effect on Nov. 9, 2026, and remain in place until March 29, 2027. The setup will cover the commission’s main and regional offices.
Under the new arrangement, the processing and issuance of voter’s certifications will be suspended every Monday throughout the implementation period.
Onsite overseas voter registration will likewise be unavailable on Mondays during the same period.
Comelec said the measure was part of the government’s efforts to conserve energy amid the National Energy Emergency.
