Colombo, Oct. 20 (Daily Mirror) - The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a proposal to hold the cremation ceremony of the late Most Ven. Keppetiyagoda Siriwimalabhidhana Thera with State patronage.
The late Thera, who served as the Deputy Prelate (Anu Nayaka Thera) of the Sri Lanka Ramanna Maha Nikaya and the chief incumbent of Gatambe Rajopawanaramaya, passed away on October 18, 2026.
His cremation ceremony is scheduled to be held at the Gatambe Urban Council playground on October 21.
The Cabinet approved a joint proposal submitted by the Minister of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government and the Minister of Buddha Sasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs to conduct the ceremony with State patronage.
