TL;DR
- Google has officially unveiled the Fitbit Edge, a new fitness tracker that bridges the gap between the screenless Fitbit Air and the Pixel Watch 5.
- It features a larger OLED display, advanced health tracking, built-in GPS, a replaceable battery, and up to seven days of battery life, but lacks NFC payments.
- The Fitbit Edge starts at $179.99, with pre-orders opening October 12 and general availability beginning October 27.
Google officially released its first-ever screenless Fitbit tracker earlier in May this year, giving users a distraction-free health and fitness tracking experience that doesn’t involve them constantly glancing at their wrist. Roughly five months in, the tech giant is ready to strike a balance between the simplicity of the Fitbit Air and the more feature-packed Pixel Watch 5.
This is where the new Fitbit Edge comes in. Early leaks about the device gave us a good idea of what to expect, and now that Google has taken the wraps off the wearable, there’s nothing left to the imagination.
