In an emailed response to a request from the Cape Breton Post, Nova Scotia RCMP said they received a report of a vehicle leaving the road and hitting a power pole near North Shore the morning of Oct. 19.
Victoria County District RCMP, first responders and Nova Scotia Power attended the scene within thee 44000 block of the Cabot Trail around 7:45 a.m.
The driver of the vehicle, a large truck with a crane, was injured and transported to hospital.
For a few hours, the section of the Cabot Trail was closed to traffic travelling both ways and drivers were warned to be cautious as there was debris on the road. The vehicle was in the ditch.
Later Monday morning, traffic was opened to one-lane with it alternating direction through the day.
At 5 p.m., the Cabot Trail at that section was still down to one lane and officers remained on scene to co-ordinate the flow of traffic.
RCMP will post updates on their social media channels.
