Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen was on target as Galatasaray defeated Lille 4-2 to secure their first three points of the 2026 UEFA Champions League campaign.
The Nigerian forward sealed the victory with a goal in the 61st minute, registering his first strike in the Champions League this season and his seventh goal in all competitions for the Turkish giants.
Galatasaray took an early lead through Yunus Akgun, who found the back of the net in the second minute to give the home side a perfect start.
However, Lille fought back, with Aleksey Batrakov restoring parity in the 44th minute for the visitors.
The visitors also enjoyed an impressive first-half performance from 19-year-old Soriba Diaoune, who scored twice in the seventh and 39th minutes to complete a brace and put Galatasaray under pressure.
Galatasaray responded after the break and regained the lead through an own goal by Nabil Bentaleb before Osimhen put the result beyond doubt with his 61st-minute effort.
The victory represents an important boost for Galatasaray as they begin their quest for European success, while Osimhen will be eager to build on his growing goal tally as the season progresses.
