Mika Singh has strongly defended his elder brother, Daler Mehndi, against allegations that he performed under the influence of alcohol. The singer has vowed to quit singing if anyone can prove the claims against Daler. His response followed a controversial stage confrontation during a religious fair in Uttarakhand, India.
The incident took place on October 18 during the Kunjapuri Fair in Uttarakhand’s Tehri district. Daler was performing as part of the Navratri celebrations when local MLA and Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal reportedly interrupted his show. According to reports, the minister reprimanded the singer and asked him to stop performing. He allegedly claimed that Daler had consumed alcohol before taking the stage at the religious event.

Following the incident, a video of the confrontation circulated widely on social media, sparking debate about the treatment of the veteran singer. Mika addressed the controversy in a video message, questioning reports that portrayed his brother as intoxicated and unable to sing properly. He also challenged those spreading the allegations to provide proof rather than make unverified claims.
Moreover, Mika suggested that Daler might have honoured a professional commitment despite feeling unwell. He explained that he would fulfil a scheduled performance even if he were sick, regardless of whether the event offered a large or small budget. Mika said his brother might have followed the same approach when he appeared at the fair.

Mika also questioned whether reports about an established artist should circulate without proper fact-checking or giving the individual an opportunity to respond. His remarks highlighted his support for Daler amid the growing controversy. However, the allegations remain disputed, and the available account does not establish whether Daler consumed alcohol before the performance.
