QUETTA, Oct 21 (APP):Balochistan Governor Jaffar Khan Mandokhail on Wednesday said that strong, durable, and modern infrastructure plays a key role in the development and progress of the country and the nation.
He said this while talking to Mir Saleem Ahmed Khosa, the Provincial Minister for Communication and Works and Parliamentary Leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) called on him.
During the meeting, discussions were held regarding infrastructure development in the province, the effective planning of construction projects, and the prudent use of available resources.
On this occasion, Governor of Balochistan Jaffar Khan Mandokhail stated that the quality construction of roads, bridges, and other basic facilities not only provides the public with better travel amenities but also plays a significant role in fostering commercial activities, driving economic growth, and connecting remote areas with major urban centers.
He emphasized that it is imperative to consider both short-term and long-term requirements when planning development projects, ensuring that immediate needs are met while simultaneously securing sustainable development that aligns with future demands.
Governor Mandokhail said that priority must be given to the timely completion of projects, the monitoring of construction quality, transparency, and the effective utilization of available funds.
He said that if development projects are initiated based on comprehensive planning and the establishment of clear priorities, it would not only reduce unnecessary burdens on the national exchequer but also help prevent the wastage of substantial budgetary allocations, ensuring maximum benefit is derived from public resources.
The Governor of Balochistan emphasized that when selecting development projects, primary importance should be placed on public needs, economic utility, construction sustainability, and long-term benefits saying that this approach would facilitate appropriate arrangements for the maintenance of projects upon their completion, ensuring that assets created through national resources remain durable and long-lasting.
