David Moyes insists he remains fully focused on building Everton despite uncertainty over the club’s ownership and his own future.
The Everton boss has been in charge since January 2025, one month after The Friedkin Group completed their takeover from Farhad Moshiri.
With the club now up for sale, Moyes says his priority is continuing the progress made during his time in charge.
“Well I’m getting on with the job and trying to build Everton and keeping it going in the right direction,” Moyes said.
“Hopefully we’ve done some half-decent things in the last year and a half or so.”
Moyes believes the squad has continued to improve and insists the players must remain focused despite events off the pitch.
“We all expect the players to focus on their job,” he said.
“I think we’re improving, I think we’re evolving.
“We want to try and challenge and we want to be around the top teams.”
The Scot also confirmed talks over a new contract have taken place, with his current deal set to expire next summer.
“There’s been plenty of talks happening through the summer,” Moyes said.
But he admitted those discussions have slowed amid the current ownership situation.
“Maybe just the way things are going there’s a bit of a lull,” he added.
“It’s not the most important thing to me. I just want to keep driving Everton on.”
