A man has been arrested after allegedly entering the electoral office of Western Australian MP Hannah Beazley and threatening staff with nunchucks.
The incident comes just days after federal Independent MP Helen Haines was critically injured in what has been described as an alleged targeted “attack” outside her Victorian office this week.
In a statement, WA Police said a man was reportedly causing a disturbance outside Ms Beazley’s office on Albany Highway in Victoria Park about 1.15pm on Wednesday.

The man allegedly made verbal threats while in possession of what were described as nunchucks.
He was arrested in Bentley.
“The 56-year-old man was apprehended and is currently assisting police with their inquiries,” WA Police said in a statement.
“Anyone with any information regarding this incident is asked to contact Crime Stoppers online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au or by calling 1800 333 000.”
No injuries were reported and no charges have been laid.
Ms Beazley is the daughter of former federal Labor leader Kim Beazley and currently serves as WA’s Local Government Minister, having held the seat of Victoria Park since 2021.

Ms Beazley was not inside the office at the time but in a statement said the incident was “confronting” for her staff.
“I have spoken to my staff, who are understandably shaken and upset by what took place. Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident,” she said.
“Right now, my focus is on the welfare of those staff members.
“Everyone has the right to go about our lives free from the fear of violence, at work, at home and in the community.
“I thank the police officers who responded quickly and soon had a person in custody. Their response to this incident and the support they have provided my staff is greatly appreciated.”
