Liverpool are one of the most well-known clubs in the world.
And, while this is good for certain deals, for others, it can cause the price of players to sky rocket.
For example, if any other club came in for Ismaila Sarr towards the end of the summer transfer window, there's no way that Crystal Palace would have been demanding around £80 million to let him to leave.
Thanks to the heightened prices that Liverpool are given, this makes a lot of deals hard for them to agree.
So, even though they're linked with many different players every season, only three or four moves ever get confirmed but, they often keep tabs on players they think could become even better.
And, that seems to be exactly what they've done with one midfielder.
Liverpool are interested in signing Johan Manzambi again
In the summer, it felt almost impossible for Liverpool's fanbase to go a day without their club being linked with a new player.
Obviously, this was because they finished fifth in the Premier League last term which was a massive fall from grace.
Because, just the season before, they'd won the Premier League title and were one of the world's best teams with Luis Enrique even saying that Liverpool were the toughest team that Paris Saint-Germain had faced all season.
However, for one reason or another, things just didn't click during the 2025-26 campaign which led to Arne Slot being sacked and many transfer rumours emerging.
One of the main areas that they need to upgrade is their midfield and, although many players were rumoured to be potential options, one of them has now re-emerged as an option for Liverpool.
"In recent internal meetings, the decision-makers at Anfield Road have consistently spoken favorably about Manzambi," 442 wrote.
"And according to information from 4-4-2.ch , they have decided to monitor the 20-time international throughout the entire season. Liverpool's scouting department is certainly not making a mistake with this move.
"Firstly, Manzambi is already in excellent form just a few weeks after joining what is arguably the best football league in the world.
"Secondly, there are persistent transfer rumors surrounding Alexis Mac Allister, who is reportedly a top target for Real Madrid.
"Manzambi is quickly justifying the gigantic €60 million transfer fee . The Swiss prodigy is well on his way to establishing himself as a star player in the Premier League. Liverpool will be able to assess this precisely in the future."
Johan Manzambi could be a good signing for Liverpool in the summer
One good thing about Manzambi is that, because Aston Villa bought him in the summer, when Liverpool were also interested in him, by the end of the current campaign, he'll already have a years worth of experience in the Premier League.
However, for Aston Villa this season, he's mainly been used as a number 10 which, at the moment, isn't exactly what Liverpool need.
Because, even though Florian Wirtz is performing nowhere near the standards expected of him, he's still young and is the Reds' third-most expensive signing ever.
So, as much as fans want him to get dropped, unless another team comes in to try and buy him from Liverpool, there's no way that he's being replaced.
But, in the past, Manzambi has been used as a number eight and a number six so, if the Reds want him, he would probably be able to fit into Iraola's double pivot.
Here's hoping that, if new players are signed in the future that they're as good, if not better than Manzambi.
