He's a global pop star, an actor, a former competitive swimmer, and a published poet - and now Cody Simpson is adding book club host to his resume.
The Australian singer is launching his own book club, where he will be sharing his favourite reads each month alongside a different cocktail.
He'll be kicking things off with On the Road, the 1957 novel from Jack Kerouac, which was inspired by the author's travels across the United States.
"Books have always been a big part of my life and On the Road is one I keep coming back to," he said.
"It's all about chasing freedom and the people you meet along the way, and it's shaped what I read and how I write."
Simpson is in good company, as there is a growing list of celebrities sharing their love of books with avid readers.
Singer Dua Lipa, actor Emma Roberts and Oscar winner Reese Witherspoon are among the famous faces who have launched book clubs of their own.
For Simpson, who published his poetry and prose collection Prince Neptune in 2020, the club offers a chance to share the stories that stay with him long after the final page.
In honour of his book club journey, Simpson is returning to Sydney for the Baileys and Dymocks release party for Sarah J. Maas' A Court of Splintered Harmony, which is Simpson's second book club pick.
The event on Monday will celebrate the sixth instalment in Maas' bestselling A Court of Thorns and Roses series.
As midnight strikes and Tuesday begins, fans will be among the first to get their hands on the much-anticipated book.
Dymocks head of marketing Catherine Rose said the event would bring readers together around their shared passion for the series.
"At Dymocks, we believe in the power of books to create community connection and bring readers together," she said.
"The passion surrounding A Court of Thorns and Roses is a wonderful example of that, and we're thrilled to team up with Baileys and Cody Simpson to create a memorable midnight release experience.
"We can't wait to welcome fans for what promises to be an exciting night."
