The Makueni County government plans to hand over its Sh1 billion fruit processing factory to a private investor through a concession deal, which aims to maximise the output of the plant.
The Public Private Partnership (PPP) unit of the National Treasury approved the concept note for the concession deal in September 2026, setting the stage for the project to progress to a feasibility study stage.
