Liverpool have released a new biography celebrating the life and legacy of former forward Diogo Jota, with all profits from the book set to support a grassroots football programme being established in his name through the LFC Foundation.
The club announced the release in a post on its X handle on Thursday, revealing that the book, titled Forever in Our Hearts, was written by Portuguese author and former professional footballer José Delgado and published by Reach Sport.
The biography traces Jota’s journey from his early years in Portugal to becoming one of his generation’s admired players and a beloved member of Liverpool’s football family.
It features extensive interviews with family members, friends, teammates and coaches, including contributions from Jota’s wife, Rute, his parents, Isabel and Joaquim, former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp, and more than 90 other people who knew him closely.
Their accounts provide an intimate portrait of the forward’s footballing talent, determination, humility and the relationships that shaped his life and career.

The book also celebrates the special bond between Jota and his brother, André Silva, while reflecting on the lasting impact both men had on teammates, supporters and the wider football community.
Jota enjoyed a successful career, winning the Premier League with Liverpool and the UEFA Nations League with Portugal. His performances and contributions to the teams he represented earned him widespread admiration.
However, Forever in Our Hearts also recounts the tragic circumstances surrounding the deaths of Jota and André in July 2025, shortly after Jota married his childhood sweetheart, Rute. Their deaths triggered an outpouring of grief and tributes from across the football world.

Speaking about the project, Delgado said the book began as an opportunity to preserve Jota’s memory during a period of profound sadness.
“My commitment throughout was to tell his story with care, honesty and respect for Diogo, André, and the family and friends who loved them,” he said.
The author added that the willingness of those who shared their memories helped bring the brothers’ personalities and the depth of affection people had for them to life.
Delgado also highlighted the special relationship between Jota and Liverpool, noting that people he spoke to during his research recalled not only the forward’s ability on the pitch but also his humility, commitment and character.
He expressed hope that Forever in Our Hearts would serve as a fitting tribute to Jota’s life and legacy while inspiring future generations.
The book is available through official Liverpool FC stores and online, with all profits allocated to the grassroots football programme being established in Jota’s name.
The release comes as Liverpool continues to honour the memory of Jota and his brother. Earlier in 2026, the club unveiled a permanent memorial outside Anfield, giving supporters a place to remember the brothers and reflect on their enduring influence on the football community.
Through the biography and the planned grassroots initiative, Liverpool hopes to extend Jota’s legacy beyond his achievements on the pitch by creating opportunities for future generations to experience and benefit from the game he loved.
