Local sources say several Taliban fighters have been wounded in attacks on the group’s checkpoints in Badghis province.
Sources told the Hasht-e Subh Daily on Sunday, October 25, that clashes had occurred over the past several nights near Taliban checkpoints in Tagab Alam and Jawand districts, as well as in the Golchin area of Qadis district.
According to the sources, the exact number of wounded fighters remains unknown.
In a separate incident on Thursday, a “criminal Taliban member” escaped while being transferred to the provincial capital, Qala-e-Naw. Despite having his hands tied, he managed to free himself, killed another Taliban member, and fled.
These incidents come amid an increase in clashes between the Taliban and opposition fronts in various Afghan provinces in recent months.
On Saturday, the National Resistance Front reported an attack on Taliban fighters in Herat, while Afghanistan’s Green Trend reported an attack on a vehicle belonging to Taliban intelligence in Badakhshan.
