- St Paul's University humorously responded to Nick Odhiambo after he reportedly vowed never to get married again
- The university dug up Nick's 2024 post in which he celebrated his last Friday as a single man before his April 13 wedding
- St Paul's suggested Nick enrol for a Bachelor of Arts in Peace and Conflict Studies, drawing laughter online
St Paul's University in Kenya left social media users in stitches on October 14 after delivering a perfectly timed academic punchline directed at a man who had apparently sworn off marriage for good.
The university's official account, @SPUKenya, resurfaced an old post by Nick Odhiambo, who goes by @iamnickodhiambo on X, in which he had celebrated his final Friday as a bachelor ahead of his April 13, 2024 wedding.
Nick's Original Celebration
In that earlier post, Nick was in high spirits as he announced the retirement of his single life.
"My last friday as a single man.... We officially retire the #ChickMagnet 13th of April 2024. #MubabaSmart will now be Husbae," he wrote, adding that he had "Found Peace and Tranquillity."
He even noted that a Mercedes-Benz W126 would serve as his wedding transport, signalling that the occasion was being marked in style.

Fast forward several months, and Nick's outlook on matrimony had apparently shifted dramatically. After he reportedly declared that he would never walk down the aisle again, St Paul's University seized the moment with surgical comic timing.
The University's Witty Response
Quoting Nick's cheerful pre-wedding post, the institution wrote:
"Ulimanage?? Kuja ufanye Bachelor's of Arts in Peace and Conflict studies akiz", loosely translated as "Did you manage it? Come and do a Bachelor of Arts in Peace and Conflict Studies."
The joke landed squarely. By framing marriage as a source of "conflict" worthy of formal academic study, St Paul's turned its own degree programme into the punchline, while also gently ribbing Nick for his apparent change of heart about married life.
The post spread quickly, with many online users appreciating both the university's sharp sense of humour and its ability to engage with trending conversations in a way that felt genuinely funny rather than forced.
For St Paul's University, the exchange doubled as clever, low-key marketing for a degree that most people would not ordinarily think about on a Friday afternoon. Whether Nick takes up the offer remains to be seen.
Businessman Graduates as Civil Engineer
In other news, TUKO also highlighted facts about Kenyan businessman Moses Adika, who earned a Civil Engineering degree from the University of Nairobi 11 years after first enrolling.
After leaving his studies to build a business, Adika returned to complete his degree, graduating with Second Class Upper Division honours. He said his journey showed that “a break is not the same as giving up”.
