New AI system helps IT teams reduce alert noise, manage operational risks and improve resilience through measurable, auditable outcomes.
SolarWinds has launched Avior, a standalone, goal-oriented agentic AI system designed for mission-critical IT environments.
Built on the SolarWinds platform, Avior enables IT teams to define operational goals, coordinate specialised AI agents and track progress towards measurable outcomes across hybrid digital environments. It helps organisations move beyond reactive IT management towards proactive, resilient and business-aligned operations.
As enterprise IT environments become increasingly complex, unpredictable AI outcomes can introduce operational costs, downtime and compliance risks. Avior addresses these challenges through a deterministic execution framework that combines AI-driven intelligence with defined goals, security guardrails, approval controls and auditable workflows.
Built for Enterprise Trust and Control
Avior incorporates risk-tiered autonomy, requiring explicit human approval for potentially high-risk actions. Guided by SolarWinds’ responsible AI framework, AI by Design, the system includes granular audit trails, goal tracking, automated rollback support, data masking and least-privilege tool access.
Its approach is built on three core principles:
- Goal-oriented: Pursues measurable outcomes through a controlled execution loop.
- Transparent: Presents its reasoning in clear, auditable language that IT operators can understand.
- Controlled: Provides fine-grained control over the level of autonomy permitted.
Delivering Measurable IT Outcomes
Avior helps organisations streamline IT operations and improve resilience by correlating related events into actionable incidents to reduce alert noise and manual triage, continuously monitoring devices for compliance gaps, detecting and correcting configuration drift, automating configuration backups, tracking capacity and costs to identify potential issues early, and managing asset lifecycles by identifying obsolete assets, monitoring firmware versions and highlighting end-of-life risks.
Commenting on the launch, Rohit Shukla, APJC Leader at SolarWinds, said: “For Indian enterprises, the real test of agentic AI is whether it can deliver business outcomes within clearly defined controls. Avior shifts the focus from managing alerts to achieving measurable outcomes. This will enable IT teams to spend less time on manual triage and more time establishing policies, safeguards and operational goals aligned with business priorities.”
Cullen Childress, Interim CEO and Chief Product Officer at SolarWinds, said: “IT operations have traditionally been measured by how quickly teams respond. As environments become more complex and distributed, reaction time alone is no longer enough. Organisations need to reduce operational risk and build resilience into everyday IT operations. Avior helps teams move from managing alerts to orchestrating outcomes through clear goals, guardrails and control.”
With Avior, SolarWinds aims to help enterprises establish a more proactive and accountable approach to IT operations, combining AI-driven intelligence with the oversight and predictability required for mission-critical environments.
