Brady Tkachuk is putting together one of the most remarkable scoring stretches of the young NHL season. The Florida Panthers forward recorded his second consecutive natural hat trick Thursday night, completing the performance with an overtime goal in a 3-2 victory over the Vancouver Canucks.
The accomplishment placed Tkachuk in rare company.
According to Reuters, he became the first NHL player since Auston Matthews in February 2024 to record hat tricks in consecutive games. Even more impressive, Tkachuk scored all three Florida goals against Vancouver, turning a two-goal deficit into an overtime victory.
The performance followed another extraordinary outing against Columbus earlier in the week. For a Panthers team attempting to build momentum, Tkachuk's offensive explosion has arrived at an ideal time.
Six goals in two games create a remarkable streak
Tkachuk's scoring surge began Tuesday against the Columbus Blue Jackets. He recorded a natural hat trick during the second period of Florida's 7-3 victory, scoring three consecutive goals in a span of slightly more than eight minutes.

The performance included another unusual historical achievement.
His brother, Matthew Tkachuk, assisted on all three goals, marking the first time an NHL player had assisted on every goal of a sibling's natural hat trick. The brothers have become an important part of Florida's offensive identity.
However, Brady followed that performance with something even more dramatic Thursday. Vancouver carried a 2-0 advantage into the closing stages of the third period.
Tkachuk scored twice during the final nine minutes of regulation, forcing overtime and giving Florida an opportunity to complete the comeback.
He then scored the winning goal 2:23 into the extra period. Three goals. One comeback. Another hat trick.
Tkachuk joins exclusive Panthers company
The achievement also placed Tkachuk among a small group of players in Florida franchise history. He became the third Panthers player to record hat tricks in consecutive games, joining Noel Acciari and Pavel Bure.
He also became the second player in franchise history to complete a hat trick with an overtime goal, joining Aleksander Barkov. Those distinctions demonstrate just how unusual his recent performances have been.
Scoring three goals in one NHL game is difficult enough. Doing it in consecutive games requires an extraordinary combination of opportunity, finishing ability and offensive confidence.
Tkachuk has managed to produce six goals across two games while helping Florida secure consecutive victories.

Panthers hope scoring surge continues
Florida's victory against Vancouver improved the team's recent momentum. The Panthers had struggled to put together consecutive wins earlier in the season, making Thursday's comeback particularly encouraging.
Goaltender Akira Schmid contributed 15 saves against the Canucks, while Seth Jones recorded two assists. Vancouver, meanwhile, suffered its sixth consecutive defeat.
The Panthers will need contributions from throughout their lineup to maintain their improvement, but Tkachuk's performances have provided an enormous boost. Opposing teams will undoubtedly devote additional attention to him after watching his recent scoring explosion.
That could create opportunities for other Florida forwards as defenses attempt to limit his chances. For now, Tkachuk has accomplished something that few players manage during an entire career.
Two consecutive natural hat tricks, six goals in two games and an overtime winner have made him one of the NHL's most compelling early-season stories. The Panthers will hope the scoring continues long after the historical comparisons fade.
