A new report has revealed the most popular names for cats and dogs in Canada, and Calgary pet owners have some familiar favourites topping the lists.
The report comes from Rover, the world’s largest online marketplace for personalized pet care.
“The names dog and cat parents choose to give their pets are often a direct reflection of who they are, what they like, and what’s going on in the world at the time,” Rover said.
According to Rover, in its 14th annual top names report, Charlie is the number one name for dogs in Calgary, while Luna topped the list for cats. Luna was also the second most popular name for dogs in the city.
There are other overlaps in the top five cat and dog names.
The top five dog names are Charlie, Luna, Bella, Milo, and Daisy. For cats, it’s Luna, Milo, Leo, Nala, and Cleo.
