ESPN PR announced ESPN JV on Wednesday, a new YouTube channel “dedicated to introducing young audiences to the excitement of sports through engaging, entertaining, and family-friendly content.”
“ESPN JV is about creating an exciting entry point into sports for the next generation of fans,” VP Multi-Platform Video Celia Bouza said. “By combining ESPN’s connection to the biggest moments and personalities in sports with creative, interactive storytelling, we’re building a destination where kids can explore their interests, discover new sports and develop a lifelong love of the game.”
ESPN JV is coming at a time when sports programming for kids is more necessary than ever, as fans increasingly voice their frustration with the prevalence of NSFW ads such as Sydney Sweeney’s Novig and Megan Fox’s Ro spots, as well as gambling and prediction advertisements during live sporting events.
Fans aren’t the only ones upset with the state of things. Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Alex Call took to X to voice his frustrations before his team’s critical Game 3 against the Milwaukee Brewers, which it goes into in a 0-2 series hole in the NLCS.
“Can we please get the soft porn ads off playoff broadcasts, TBS, Fox, NBC, (MLB)?” Call asked on X. “My son wants to watch baseball with Dada, but how do I justify that when a half-naked women could come on screen anytime?? This is America’s Pastime. Parents shouldn’t have to worry about this.”

While he makes a fair point, die-hard Dodgers fans might want thier players more focused on the Brewers than what’s happening on television, but Call has yet to appear in a postseason game despite being on the active roster, so maybe they’ll give him a pass.
