Separately, Pakistan and 18 other countries condemned Colombia’s decision to open an embassy in occupied Jerusalem, according to a Foreign Office statement. The countries said the move contradicted relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.
The joint statement also warned that opening the embassy could undermine efforts toward a two-state solution. The position reflects Pakistan’s continued opposition to steps it considers inconsistent with international resolutions on Jerusalem. Pakistan reiterated its support for Saudi Arabia while also highlighting concerns over developments affecting the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
