BUSAN — The Busan Port Authority said on the 22nd that it has improved rest facilities at its partner companies as part of a safety and health cooperation program between large corporations and smaller firms.
The BPA surveyed conditions at partner companies that lack the means to invest in workplace safety and health, then funded rest facilities tailored to each site.
Workplaces without adequate rest space received prefabricated container units, while sites with poor heating and cooling were given essential equipment to create more comfortable break areas.
The authority said the upgrades are intended to prevent heat- and cold-related illnesses and to narrow the gap in safety and health conditions between larger firms and their partner companies.
"A safe and comfortable place to rest is the foundation of preventing industrial accidents," BPA President Song Sang-keun said, pledging continued support.
