Umodzi Holdings has suspended its chief executive officer, Kamlepo Kalua, on administrative grounds.
However, the board is keeping the reasons for the decision private.
Umodzi Holdings Board Chairperson Geobra Kamanga confirmed the suspension but declined to disclose the circumstances surrounding the decision, saying the matter was personal.
“The reasons, being personal, have been communicated to him (Kalua),” Kamanga said.
Kamanga’s remarks suggest that Kalua has been informed of the reasons for his suspension, although the board has not made them public.
It remains unclear when the suspension took effect, how long it will last and whether the board intends to take further administrative action.
Neither the board nor Kalua has publicly provided additional details about the suspension.
The circumstances surrounding the decision therefore remain unclear, with attention turning to the board’s next steps and whether it will provide further information.
