A bank with the largest branch network in Vietnam, a national university in Korea, and NH Nonghyup Bank are joining forces to establish a comprehensive support system for Vietnamese international students.
NH Nonghyup Bank announced on Oct, 23 that it signed a 'Memorandum of Understanding on Attracting Vietnamese International Students and Supporting Financial Services' with Vietnam's Agribank and Changwon National University in Hanoi, Vietnam, on Oct, 22.
Agribank will support Changwon National University's efforts to attract international students by utilizing its strength of operating the largest number of branches in Vietnam. It plans to raise the university's awareness through local sales channels and actively promote it to prospective students wishing to study abroad.
In terms of financial services, NH Nonghyup Bank and Agribank will operate a connected system linking the two countries. They agreed to jointly provide financial services necessary for the overall study abroad life, including foreign exchange transactions such as tuition and living expense remittances that occur from the preparation stage to the period of stay in Korea.
This cooperation is an extension of the 'strategic collaboration' signed by NH Nonghyup Bank and Agribank in April. The two sides have continued cooperation in various fields, such as expanding their mutual customer bases, launching a card-based overseas remittance service, and conducting marketing linked to K-content, and in July, Agribank executives visited Korea to discuss specific implementation plans.
Ji Seong-wook, head of NH Nonghyup Bank's Hanoi Financial Center, emphasized, "This agreement is highly meaningful in that it helps our institutional customer, Changwon National University, attract international students while simultaneously expanding our bank's foreign customer base," adding, "We will develop it into a cooperative model that provides practical help to students, universities, and banks alike."
The signing ceremony was attended by Head Ji Seong-wook, Changwon National University President Park Min-won, and Agribank Foreign Exchange Settlement Center Deputy Head Pham Ngoc Diep, who promised close cooperation in the future.
