Ethereum, Solana staking milestones: 43.8M ETH, 69% SOL staked by Q3

Ethereum and Solana have reached significant milestones in staking, according to a report by Bitwise. Ethereum’s staking surged to 43.8 million ETH, representing 35.9% of its total supply. Meanwhile, Solana saw 69% of its supply staked by the end of the third quarter. This development highlights the growing interest in proof-of-stake networks, with both Ethereum and Solana experiencing increased staking participation.

The report indicates a robust inflow of staking activity, with Ethereum recording nearly 2 million ETH in net staking inflows during the quarter. However, Ethereum’s annualized staking yield has seen a decline, dropping to 2.63% from 2.81% as rewards are distributed over a larger base. Solana’s increased staking percentage reflects growing confidence in its network, which could influence market perceptions and valuations.

Market participants are closely monitoring these developments, as they suggest a positive outlook for both Ethereum and Solana’s economic models. The increase in staking activity is typically seen as an indicator of network strength and user confidence, potentially impacting the price dynamics of their native tokens.
