The undefeated San Francisco 49ers take on the Washington Commanders on "Monday Night Football."
The 49ers (5-0) are one of only three teams without a loss so far in the 2026 NFL season. The others are the Kansas City Chiefs and the Minnesota Vikings.
The 49ers will face the Commanders, who sit at 1-3-1 after their last game ended in a 27-27 tie with the New York Giants.
Where can I watch Monday Night Football?
The "Monday Night Football" game between the Washington Commanders and the San Francisco 49ers starts at 6:15 p.m. MT/7:15 p.m. CT Monday, Oct. 19, from Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California. It will be televised on ABC and ESPN.
What is going on with Troy Aikman and Joe Buck?
The primary "Monday Night Football" broadcast team is play-by-play announcer Joe Buck and former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Troy Aikman as analyst.
The broadcast partnership has been together since they started at Fox in 2002, spending 20 seasons with Fox before moving to ESPN in 2022.
Aikman told Front Office Sports that he and Buck got into an argument before the "Monday Night Football" broadcast on Oct. 12 between the Los Angeles Rams and Buffalo Bills, though nothing appeared out of the ordinary for viewers.
USA Today reported that Aikman last week said he is looking forward to "his next landing spot" after he calls Super Bowl LXI (Super Bowl 61) for ESPN on Feb. 14, 2027.
Aikman addressed the reported argument with Buck on a Dallas sports radio station.
"There’s probably a time and a place for all that," Aikman said on 96.7 The Ticket, a Dallas sports radio station. "I don’t know if now is the time. I don’t know if it’s hard to figure out kind of what happened. I’ll broadcast through this season and I’ll be a free agent at the end of the year and kind of see what happens. I’m looking forward to whatever the rest of this season does hold and the Super Bowl and all that and where my next landing spot may be."
