KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Datin Intan Najuwa is set to take legal action against an individual who sent her death threats using a fake social media account.
In a recent post, Intan, whose full name is Intan Najuwa Abdul Wahid, revealed that the harasser had resurfaced after months of silence.
She confirmed that the person behind the account is a man, adding that he used to send her direct messages (DMs) almost daily, as well as harassing her friends and calling her club.
"Today (yesterday), he reappeared after months of silence. Previously, he would harass me almost every day via DMs," the 29-year-old artiste wrote on her Instagram Story.
"It wasn't just me—he also sent DMs and emails to all my friends. He even went as far as calling the Kuala Lumpur Polo Club office almost daily, just to look for me, insisting on speaking to me, and threatening me with various things."
The situation escalated when the man began leaving comments containing explicit death threats.
"The person behind this fake account is a man. He has resurfaced, but this time with comments threatening to kill me," she said.
"To whoever is behind this fake account, please stop this behaviour immediately. I can no longer tolerate the harassment, threats, and invasion of privacy that you have been carrying out."
Issuing a stern warning, the actress emphasised that death threats and persistent harassment are serious matters.
She intends to pursue legal action if the individual does not stop immediately.
"If I file a police report and initiate legal proceedings, you could face severe legal consequences," Intan warned. "I have every right to protect my own safety, my privacy, and my family. This must stop."
This is not the first time the actress has faced online abuse. She previously lodged a police report after an individual targeted her with baseless accusations.
