Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have arrested a suspect captured in a widely circulated video showing a violent robbery in Parklands, Nairobi.
The suspect was apprehended on Wednesday, October 21, following an intelligence-led operation by officers from Gigiri.
According to the DCI, the suspect was allegedly part of a group that attacked a member of the public, stole his valuables and escaped.

The incident was recorded on video, which later circulated widely on social media from October 15, causing outrage online over the surge in robbery cases around the city.
During the robbery, the suspect reportedly dropped a firearm, which police recovered and retained as an exhibit.
According to the directorate, he remained at large after the incident as detectives pursued leads to establish his whereabouts.
The suspect is being held in custody as police complete the necessary procedures ahead of his expected court appearance.
Investigators are also following additional leads aimed at identifying and apprehending his accomplices, who remain at large.
The arrest comes amid heightened public concern over violent robberies in parts of Nairobi, with CCTV footage and videos of attacks drawing attention to security threats facing residents and businesses.
In July, the DCI launched an investigation after armed suspects raided a restaurant along General Mathenge Road in Westlands, stealing customers’ valuables at gunpoint before fleeing towards Parklands.
That incident involved four suspects who arrived on two motorcycles, fired shots into the air and escaped, prompting investigations involving witness statements, intelligence gathering and forensic evidence.
