The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has announced that 8,000 people in parts of Badakhshan, Baghlan and Takhar provinces have gained access to safe drinking water.
OCHA said on Thursday, October 22, that the project was implemented with support from the Afghanistan Humanitarian Fund (AHF).
As part of the project, water supply systems have been built in parts of Badakhshan, Baghlan and Takhar provinces.
The agency added that millions of people in Afghanistan face shortages of safe drinking water and that access to clean water has become a daily challenge for families.
OCHA stressed that flexible and predictable funding enables the delivery of critical assistance to the most vulnerable communities.
