It's been five full years since Texas A&M football has taken down Alabama and it's been 14 years since its happened on the road. But Aggies fans are hoping a team that started the season ranked in the top 10 can find its footing down in Tuscaloosa.
A&M travels to played 13th-ranked Alabama in game that features two SEC teams many didn't expect to have multiple losses by mid-October. Head coach Mike Elko and the Aggies lost their third game of the season last week and Alabama lost its second, setting up what could be a pivotal matchup in a crowded SEC race.

The Citadel, an FCS program, was no match for the Aggies last week at Kyle Field in a 41-0 A&M rout. With more than 500 yards of offense, quarterback Marcel Reed is hoping to string together solid performances. A&M's offense has scored just two touchdowns in three conference games.

Texas A&M vs Alabama predictions
Cedric Golden, Austin American-Statesman: The Aggies should walk into Bryant-Denny Stadium with their follicles on fire because at 4-3 and needing two wins to make it to a bowl game, they face a rough climb with games remaining against the Tide, resurgent South Carolina, Tennessee, Oklahoma and Texas. I like them at home against the Gamecocks but they're going to be underdogs in the other three. Alabama will be angry after the Tennessee loss. They take it out on the Aggies, 31-17.
Kirk Bohls, Houston Chronicle: I can't imagine a worse time for the Aggies to stroll into Crimson Tide territory when Kalen DeBoer's desperate team is playing with its postseason life in the balance. And maybe his future employment. A&M has yet to score a touchdown on the road, but maybe Marcel Reed finds some success against the Tide's suspect pass defense. I'm expecting something like a 32-17 Bama win.
CBS: All nine writers are taking Alabama, with six predicting the Tide will cover the two-touchdown spread.
Aggies Wire: Two people on staff at the A&M blog site are picking Alabama.
Roll Tide Wire: It's another clean sweep at this outlets; all three polled are going with Bama over A&M.
