Nearly 800 of 12,000 acres of galamsey-damaged land reclaimed – Mahama

“I also want to mention some successes that have been chopped. Illegal mining has destroyed approximately 12,000 acres of land in Ghana. We currently have embarked on reclamation of these forest reserves, and I want to commend Newmont for the excellent work that it is doing in the area of reclamation. Newmont has reclaimed almost 800 acres of mined lands and planted it with useful crops,” Mahama said.
