Jackery’s new portable power stations are smaller, lighter and ready to go further.
The new Explorer 1000 Plus v2 and Explorer 2000 Plus v2 bring more flexible power to camping trips, campervans, outdoor adventures and home backup – and they launch in the UK on 14 October.
Whether it’s keeping the fridge running on a campervan adventure, powering essential devices during a weekend off-grid or providing a backup source of electricity at home, portable power is becoming increasingly useful.
But there’s a catch: nobody wants to lug around more weight or sacrifice valuable storage space just to have more energy available.
That’s where Jackery’s latest generation of portable power stations aims to make a difference.
Following their European debut at the IFA Berlin 2026 trade show, the new Explorer 1000 Plus v2 and Explorer 2000 Plus v2 officially launch in the UK on 14 October 2026, bringing a combination of high-capacity power, portability and expandability to the Explorer Plus range.
The idea is straightforward: start with the power you need today, then expand when you need more.

More power, less bulk
For anyone who has packed a campervan, motorhome or car for a trip, space matters.
Jackery has focused heavily on reducing the size and weight of its latest Explorer Plus models while maintaining their power capabilities. Both use the company's automotive-inspired Cell-to-Body (CTB) architecture, designed to increase energy density while making more efficient use of the available space.
The result is a pair of power stations designed to deliver substantial amounts of energy without becoming a burden to transport.
The Explorer 1000 Plus v2 weighs 10.8kg and measures 31.35 x 20.1 x 23.35cm. It has a 1,024Wh capacity, an 1,800W AC output and supports up to 400W of solar input.
It is 44% smaller and 26% lighter than its predecessor.
For weekend campers, road-trippers and outdoor enthusiasts, that can mean a portable power source that is easier to fit into the boot, tent setup or campervan.
Then there’s the Explorer 2000 Plus v2, which steps things up to 2,048Wh, with 2,400W AC output and up to 800W solar input.
Despite offering twice the starting capacity of the 1000 Plus v2, the 2000 Plus v2 only weighs 18.8kg and measures 36.6 x 25.5 x 27.2cm.
This new model is 60% smaller and 33% lighter than its predecessor.
That makes it aimed at users who need more energy for longer trips, higher-power appliances or more substantial backup – without moving away from the idea of portable power.

Start with what you need – and add more later
Perhaps the most useful feature of the new generation isn't simply how much power the two units can store. It's the ability to expand their capacity as requirements change.
The Explorer 1000 Plus v2 starts at 1,024Wh but can be expanded to up to 11kWh.The Explorer 2000 Plus v2 starts at 2,048Wh and can be expanded to up to 12kWh.
Both models are compatible with the same Battery Pack 2000, which adds around 2kWh of capacity per pack, making it easy to scale either system as more power is needed.
That means buyers don't necessarily have to predict their future energy requirements on day one.
A camper might start with the 1000 Plus v2 for weekend trips, powering devices and essential equipment away from the mains. Later, as trips become longer or energy requirements increase, additional battery capacity can be added.
Similarly, someone looking for emergency home backup could start with the 2000 Plus v2 and expand the system if they decide they need more capacity.
It's a more flexible approach to portable energy: buy for today's lifestyle, with room for tomorrow's demands.
Which Jackery Explorer Plus v2 is right for you?
The two models are designed to serve different power needs.
With its 1-11 kWhcapacity and 1,800W output (3,600 W peak) with three AC outlets, two USB-C and one USB-A, the Explorer 1000 Plus v2 is the more compact choice.
It could suit those looking for portable power for:
- Weekend camping
- Outdoor activities
- Road trips
- Lighter campervan use
- Garden and home projects
- Essential devices during an outage
Its smaller footprint and lower weight also make it particularly appealing when portability is a priority.
The Explorer 2000 Plus v2 is designed for users who need more energy from the outset.
Its 2-12 kWh capacity, 2,400W AC output (4,800 W peak)and up to 800W solar input make it suited to longer camping trips, campervans and motorhomes, higher-power appliances and more substantial backup requirements.
The choice, then, isn't simply about opting for the "bigger" model. It's about considering how much power is needed now – while knowing that either system can be expanded later.
Safety comes first
Portable power stations are increasingly being used around the home, in vehicles and alongside valuable electrical equipment. As their role grows, reliability and battery safety become increasingly important.
Jackery says Safety First is a fundamental principle in its product development.
The new Explorer Plus v2 models use advanced ceramic-coated LFP battery cells and are designed to deliver up to 6,000 charge cycles while retaining 70% of their original battery capacity.
Jackery also states an expected service life of up to 30 years under typical use, alongside intelligent battery management and protection systems.
Both models also offer 10ms UPS functionality, designed to provide a rapid switch to battery power when mains electricity is interrupted.
The CTB battery architecture uses a honeycomb-structured chassis, which is designed to improve structural rigidity and stress distribution.
For consumers, the wider message is about having portable power that isn't just useful for the next camping trip, but designed for years of use.
UK launch prices revealed
The new Explorer Plus v2 generation officially goes on sale in the UK on 14 October 2026, with an early-bird period running until 3 November.
During the launch promotion, the Explorer 1000 Plus v2 will be available for £599, reduced from an RRP of £749.
An Explorer 1000 Plus v2 + Battery Pack 2000 bundle will be available for £1,248 during the early-bird period.
The Explorer 2000 Plus v2 will be available for £949, reduced from an RRP of £1,249.
An Explorer 2000 Plus v2 + Battery Pack 2000 bundle will be available for £1,598.
With expandable capacity, substantial power output and a focus on reducing the size and weight of the hardware, Jackery's latest generation is designed around a simple proposition: portable energy should fit around the way people actually live.
Whether that's a weekend under canvas, a longer journey in a campervan or having an additional source of electricity at home, the new Explorer Plus v2 range offers consumers a choice of starting capacity – with the option to grow from there.
