When it comes to exactly replicating the wardrobes of the Royal family, jewellery can be a real stumbling block. Sure, we can take note from the Princess of Wales and grab a chocolate brown trench coat like hers, or even the exact Fairisle jumper Catherine is wearing in her new video, but a significant portion of the the Royal's earrings, brooches, necklaces, and bracelets are family heirlooms that are well beyond any average person's budget.
Unlike Kate, we can't exactly borrow the late Queen Elizabeth II's Bahrain pearl earrings for our next night out, right?
But it's a different story today, because Kate has opted for a pair of earrings that are not only available for purchase by non-Royals (ie. not in a museum or kept strictly within the family), but are also surprisingly affordable. These earrings also happen to go with everything, suit everyone, and look timelessly chic.

In a video announcing a project in early childhood research, posted to the Princess of Wales' official Instagram account on Friday, we spied Kate wearing a pair of small gold hoop earrings with dangling gemstone charms. Those earrings are by Missoma, a brand the Royal has reached for frequently over the years – her go-to chain hoops are by Missoma, as is the chain bracelet the Princess of Wales can often be spotted wearing.
The specific earrings Kate can be seen wearing in this video are Missoma's mini pyramid charm hoop earrings, which pair a studded 18ct gold hoop with a gemstone drop charm. This isn't the first time the Royal has been spotted donning this pair – Catherine also wore them to visit Sebby's Corner, a baby bank, in Barnet in 2023, in 2022 to read a CBeebies Bedtime Story, and in 2021 for International Women's Day. Proof that when you have a reliable pair of everyday hoops, you really will get years and years of use from them.

The earrings have four different gemstones to choose from – green amazonite, rainbow moonstone, turquoise, or rhodochrosite. Kate has chosen the pink-toned rhodochrosite option, which – if you're into slightly woo woo crystal stuff – actually has a rather lovely significance.
Rhodochrosite, a type of manganese carbonate mineral named after the Greek word for 'rose-coloured', is known as a stone of love and compassion. It has associations with the heart chakra, and is thought to have emotional healing properties. Fans of the crystal will often use it as a way to channel unconditional love, empathy, and forgiveness of self and others.

Essentially, it's a gemstone that's all about calming, soothing, feelings, with a real emphasis on taking care of your own emotional wellbeing before giving to others. A natural choice for Kate, then, especially when she's working on important causes like children's emotional wellbeing.
And on a less theoretical note, the earrings are a winner because they're surprisingly affordable. You can nab a pair for £98 – and bear in mind that the gemstone charm can be removed so you can wear the hoops solo, or add the gem to bigger or smaller hoops you already love.
Heck, you could get all four colourways and swap out your gems according to whatever you're up to on the day. Amazonite is meant to embody truth and courage, rainbow moonstone is for intuition and new beginnings, and turquoise is the stone of spiritual protection along with serenity in tough times. You'd be well-covered for all occasions with those.
