Marvin Harrison Jr. is keeping his emotions in check after the Arizona Cardinals traded him to the Houston Texans earlier this week.
The deal sent Harrison and a 2027 sixth-round pick to Houston in exchange for a 2027 second-round pick and a 2027 seventh-round pick. Despite his exit from Arizona, Harrison isn’t interested in airing his frustrations publicly. His comments about his departure quickly caught fans’ attention.
NFL Fans Praise Marvin Harrison Jr.’s Response to Cardinals-Texans Trade
Harrison’s departure comes after a quiet start to the season. He recorded just five receptions for 85 yards and one touchdown in four games, falling short of expectations that came with being the fourth overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
When asked why things did not work out in Arizona, Harrison kept his answer brief and diplomatic. “I’ll keep those things to myself. I’m really just moving forward,” Harrison said.
In the same press conference, he added, “I’m excited to be here and help C.J. [Stroud] again… Great situation for me, being with quarterback you have rapport with.”
His measured response drew reactions on social media, with some fans praising his professionalism.
One fan suggested Harrison was well-prepared for questions from reporters, writing, “If anything, he’s media trained.”
Another fan added, “What he really wants to say is that the organization didn’t bother getting him a QB who can throw him the ball.”

Others focused on Harrison’s character and praised him for handling the situation without creating unnecessary controversy.
“One thing they can’t attack Marv for is his character. A true professional,”one commenter wrote.
Another fan expressed optimism about Harrison’s future in Houston, saying, “Yeah, totally vibes-based, but I think this will work out in Houston and [he’s] reunited with his college QB.”
The StatsNext page on X also supported Harrison’s approach, arguing that airing his frustrations publicly would not help him.
“Smart move, honestly. Nothing good comes from airing it out. Just go play ball,” they wrote.

Harrison Reunites With C.J. Stroud in Houston
The trade reunites Harrison with Stroud, his former quarterback at Ohio State. The duo played together for two seasons in college and built a strong connection while emerging as two of the program’s biggest stars.
Harrison saw limited playing time as a freshman at Ohio State before breaking out in 2022, when he recorded 77 receptions for 1,263 yards and 14 touchdowns with Stroud at quarterback.
The Texans hope Harrison can give Stroud another dangerous target alongside Nico Collins. His ability to stretch the field could open up Houston’s passing game and help the team turn its 1-4 season around.
Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans said Harrison had passed his physical and was scheduled to make his debut against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London.
