A woman demonstrator in Chennai has filed a complaint alleging sexual assault by an unidentified male police inspector during a protest at Sivanda Salai. The incident reportedly occurred when she attempted to walk past police barricades during demonstrations organised by student and youth groups against the Special Intensive Revision. According to the complaint, the male officer deliberately groped her as a means of stopping her, causing severe physical pain. The complainant further stated that an on-duty woman police inspector failed to initiate action when approached at the spot. CJP Leaders Sent to Tihar Jail; Rahul Gandhi, Arvind Kejriwal Back Protests
Opposition leaders Rahul Gandhi and Arvind Kejriwal have strongly criticised the arrest and five-day judicial custody of Citizens for Justice and Peace co-conveners Saurabh Das and Ashutosh Ranka. The two leaders were remanded to Delhi's Tihar Prison for entering Jantar Mantar after it was denotified as a protest site and waving the national flag. A third member, Ajinkya Shinde, was released after furnishing a peace bond of five thousand rupees and undertaking to maintain peace. Delhi Police stated that Das and Ranka breached a one-year peace bond signed on 11th October by trespassing, violating prohibitory orders, and obstructing public servants on duty. CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke condemned the action, alleging that the government is crushing dissent and daring authorities to declare an emergency. Both the Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party came out in active support of the student movement, questioning how peacefully waving the tricolor at Jantar Mantar could be treated as a crime.

Cockroach Janta Party leaders Saurabh Das and Ashutosh Ranka have been remanded in five-day judicial custody and sent to Tihar Jail following their production before a Special Executive Magistrate court in New Delhi. Delhi Police submitted that the leaders are repeat offenders who violated prohibitory orders under Section 163 and breached conditions of a one-year peace bond signed previously. The action follows an incident at Jantar Mantar, which authorities de-notified as a protest venue, where party members allegedly trespassed through private premises and obstructed deployed police personnel from discharging their lawful duties. Another associate, Ajit, was released upon furnishing a security bond with instructions to maintain public order. First Information Reports were registered at Connaught Place and Parliament Street police stations regarding the demonstration. The police also noted that social media was used to mobilise crowds to the high-security New Delhi district. Defense counsel may approach Patiala House Court for bail.
