PETALING JAYA: The remains of a Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) officer, who was allegedly murdered by her husband in Nilai, Negeri Sembilan, will be transported to Tumpat, Kelantan, following the completion of her post-mortem this morning.
Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the remains would be taken by road.
“The investigation was conducted earlier this morning. The remains are expected to be transported by road shortly and arrive in Tumpat tonight,” he told reporters after visiting the Home Ministry’s Madani Adopted Village and Adopted School Programme in Machang, Kelantan, today.
Saifuddin also confirmed that the husband, who is the suspect in the case, had previously served a prison sentence for a drug-related offence.
“We can confirm that the husband, who is currently the suspected perpetrator, had previously been imprisoned for a drug-related offence,” he said.
On Thursday, media reports said an AKPS officer had been found dead at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) quarters in Nilai, with her husband suspected of being involved in the killing.
Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad confirmed that police received information about the incident at about 8.30pm.
“The murder is believed to have been committed by her husband. The suspect also surrendered himself at a police station after the incident,” he said.
Alzafny said police were conducting a detailed investigation at the scene to establish the motive and the exact time of the incident.
The suspect was also taken to the scene to assist in further investigations.
He said the case was being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code, with further details to be released after investigations at the scene were completed.
