Flora of Bermuda, named after triathlete Dame Flora Duffy, finished second in the recent Group Two Challenge Stakes at Newmarket in Suffolk.
The five-year-old mare was beaten by a neck by Never So Brave in the seven-furlong race.
Ridden by James Doyle and trained by Andrew Balding, Flora of Bermuda was the 85/40 favourite in a field of six runners.
Flora Of Bermuda is owned by Wathnan Racing.
Richard Brown, racing adviser for owners Wathnan Racing, said he expected Flora of Bermuda to retire after the Group Two Challenge Stake.
“I’m sure this will be her last run,” he told Racing TV.
“She has been a star, not only for us this year, but full stop.”
