IMPHAL, Oct 11 : The Manipur Naga Youth Organisation (MNYO) has urged the Government of India and the State Government to declare the Manipur violence as an external aggression.
The MNYO has urged Union Home Minister Amit Shah to take stock of the serious threats posed by Kuki terrorists to civilian lives.
It also demanded Home Minister Govindas Kon-thoujam to retract their denial of involvement of KNA-B and external forces in the Manipur unrest.
Both the Centre and the State Governments must declare the violence in Manipur as a case of external aggression, the MNYO said in a statement.
The daring involvement of KNA-B alongside Kuki terrorists in unleashing terror at Ningchou and Chassad areas of Manipur and another simultaneous attacks at Makui Ashang village under Kangpokpi resulting in 10 deaths including an ISIS-like beheading of a civilian was a clear case of external aggression, it said.
MNYO said that the intrusion by KNA-B can only happen on the invitation from their kindred Kukis, allegedly backed by some Central forces.
The involvement of KNA-B is not an isolated case. They performed Buddhist spell-chanting and drumming revelry on the eve of the Kukis' first and savage attack at Sinakeithei Tangkhul village on March 17, 2026 apart from butchering Konsakhul civilian captives in May this year, MNYO said.
Highway robbery, unprovoked assaults and harassment on Naga civilians in Kuki villages predating even 2025 could just be a ploy of a more sinister game plan to drag the Nagas into a deeper socio-political conundrum creating a "tempest in a teacup" situation at the behest of some mightier force, it said.
The complacency and nonchalant attitude of the Indian forces despite their intelligence and equipment is nothing but wilfully feigning ignorance .
Conflicts in Manipur are more of political and land issues that both the Centre and the State Governments can't ignore, it said.
The MNYO asserted that prolonged continuation of such elements could land India into an unfavourable position in its regional and international policies.
While appreciating Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla and DGP Mukesh Singh for their profound concern and dispatching State forces in vulnerable areas as requested, the MNYO has highlighted the urgent need for more security personnel in such vulnerable areas including convoys along Yaingangpokpi-Litan-TM Kasom and Kangpokpi-Senapati Highway sections.
