UK offshore services player OEG Marine Services has ordered three crew transfer vessels (CTVs) from Isle of Wight shipbuilder Diverse Marine as part of its offshore wind fleet expansion and renewal programme.
The vessels, based on Chartwell Marine’s Brevity SL class design, are scheduled for delivery throughout 2027. Each vessel will measure 26 m in length, with a load line length of less than 24 m, and will be built at Diverse Marine’s Cowes facility.
The first vessel will feature quad Volvo Penta IPS propulsion compliant with IMO Tier III emissions standards, alongside Hull Vane transom foils designed to improve fuel efficiency at cruising speeds. All three newbuilds will share the same specification, be classed by Bureau Veritas and operate under the UK flag.
The vessels are expected to support construction activities at an offshore wind project off the UK’s east coast in 2027, working alongside OEG’s existing Chartwell-designed Fulmar and Furioso.
The order marks the second collaboration between OEG and Diverse Marine following the delivery of the Fulmar in 2025. That vessel has since supported construction work at Scotland’s Inch Cape offshore wind farm.
OEG director Leif Cooper said the Chartwell design performed better than expected, prompting the company to return to Diverse Marine for additional vessels.
