KUALA LUMPUR: XPDC guitarist Arif Izo, 29, has chosen Switzerland as the destination for his honeymoon with his wife, Siti Nahirah Maulad Sulaiman, 29—fully aware that visiting the country comes with a hefty price tag.
Arif, who tied the knot on Oct 10, said he is more than willing to work hard to earn enough to turn their post-wedding dream into reality.
"I admit it's a bit pricey and quite a distance away. But that's alright; I just have to work hard for this first honeymoon. It's a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
"The important thing is that we've planned it—even if we only get to experience it once, that's enough," he told Harian Metro yesterday.
Arif noted that the trip will take place next year as his current schedule is exceptionally packed.
He explained that even before the wedding, he was already caught up in various professional commitments—including rehearsals for XPDC concerts, music production work, and serving as a backing musician for concerts featuring prominent artistes such as Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza.
"I am truly grateful to my wife for managing our wedding preparations all on her own. I've managed to prove that getting married isn't actually difficult, even when you're busy—it's just a little tiring," he said.
Arif added that his wife will continue to accompany him to his various engagements and performances, serving as his steadfast companion.
