Simone Biles struggled to hold back tears as she said goodbye to the Texas home where she spent six years building memories with husband Jonathan Owens as the Olympic gymnastics champion admitted she was surprised by how emotional the sale made her.
Biles shared a video of the empty property as she walked through the rooms and showing the backyard, days after the house sold after just four days on the market, bringing an emotional chapter of the couple's lives to a close.
“Today is the first day the house is going to be on the market,” Biles said via TikTok. “Why the f**k am I boohoo crying? F**k. This house will be on the market for the first time and I don’t know why I’m boohoo crying.
“I was here for six years, and I feel like there were just so many good memories, so many bad memories. But I feel like I grew up in this house.
“It’s made me a real adult, so I’m gonna miss it. Ugh, I didn’t think I’d be emotional about a house. Whoever buys this house, I hope it brings you as much joy as it did for me.”
The four-bedroom property in a gated community near Spring, Texas, was listed for $1.275 million in September and according to the Houston Association of Realtors, the sale price fell somewhere between $1.08 million and $1.24 million.
The organization does not publish the exact figure, spanning 3,998 square feet on just over an acre, the home featured three-and-a-half bathrooms, a heated outdoor swimming pool, a sauna and a dog-washing station.
Inside, its amenities included a waterfall island kitchen with quartz countertops, a hidden pantry, a spa-inspired primary bathroom and a custom wine wall with a refrigerator.
The property went under contract on September 26, just four days after the listing became public, before officially closing on October 15, the Houston Business Journal reported.
Biles also clarified online that the sale did not involve the couple's newly completed custom mansion, which is also located in Spring.
The sale comes after a difficult period for Biles away from gymnastics as last month, she revealed that three masked intruders had broken into the couple's Illinois home and stolen her Porsche.
But despite the sadness of leaving the Texas house, Biles' message reflected the significance it held throughout her adult life as the property was more than a place to live.
Biles and Owens had spent years developing their dream property, beginning the design process in 2020. Construction eventually started in February 2022 after a wait for approval, and the home was complete on November 11, 2025.
The couple's decision to sell their previous house therefore does not mean they are leaving Texas as instead, they are moving forward after creating a new home designed around their preferences and plans for the future.
Their relationship began in 2020, when they met through dating app Raya while Owens was playing for the Houston Texans and since, Biles has followed the NFL player to Chicago and now Indianapolis.
They became engaged in February 2022 and married in April 2023 before enjoying their honeymoon in South Africa.
