Elderbrook has signed with Counter Records, a Ninja Tune label.
The English producer will release his fourth studio album, Heart on a Wire, on the label Jan. 22. The album will find Elderbrook focused on an intimate, rock-inspired approach to electronic music, with the album’s bio noting that with the project, he “embarks on his next creative chapter with his most personal and contemplative album to date: a cinematic journey through the fragility of childhood, the ache of losing touch with who you used to be, and the long, imperfect process of rediscovering your childlike wonder while trying to find your way back to the fearless curiosity, openness, and powerful emotional honesty we once possessed as children.”
The 10-song album’s lead single, “Lost in the View,” is out Tuesday (Oct. 13.) Listen to the song below.
The album’s artwork was designed by creative director Charlie Drinkwater, who has previously worked with artists including Porter Robinson, Fontaines D.C., James Arthur, and Dermot Kennedy.

“I’m really excited to release an album that feels this true to who I am as a musician with Ninja Tune,” Elderbrook said in a statement. “In a lot of ways, Heart on a Wire feels like the music I was always meant to make. I found myself going back to how I approached music when I first started my career, following ideas instinctively, without thinking too much about where they were supposed to fit or what they were supposed to become. There was a freedom in that, and I think reconnecting with it allowed me to make something more honest, more personal, and ultimately more me.”
“Elderbrook is an immensely talented artist,” added Ninja Tune’s managing director of North America Marie Clausen. “He’s not only an exceptional performer, singer, and producer, but he also has a rare ability to connect with audiences on a deeply emotional level. That connection is at the heart of his success and what makes him such a special artist. Together with Red Light Management, The Team and Counter Records, a Ninja Tune label, he has built an exceptional team around him and is incredibly well positioned for even greater success. We are honored to welcome Alex to the label.”
