Seeing red took on a whole new meaning this season: The color was all over the runways at the fall/winter 2026 collections. And unlike in the past, the bold hue infiltrated almost every wardrobe category, giving us tons of inspiration for fall styling.
Plenty of designers used red as a finishing element, from the crimson belts looped around drop-waist dresses at Chanel to the scarlet brooches pinned to blazers at Khaite. Others updated fall closet staples with the shade. Classic crewneck sweaters at Tory Burch were presented in cherry, while Isabel Marant’s jeans were shown in a vibrant burgundy, both styled with contrasting neutrals. Then there was Michael Rider at Celine, who leaned all the way in with a look consisting of ruby trousers, a carmine underpinning, a magenta button-down, and vermilion accessories—a head-to-toe showstopper.

The best part about this trend is that the styling options are wide open. If you’re a uniform dresser who prefers timeless shapes and textures, it’s simple enough to introduce a maroon crewneck or classic wine-colored pump into a neutral outfit. But it’s just as easy to sprinkle a claret-colored bag or rouge lip into an already-punchy wardrobe if your taste is more eclectic.
Below, I break down five ways to get more red into your wardrobe for fall 2026, from ready-to-wear classics to accessories and even beauty.
Ready-to-Wear
Mix a red sweater or jeans into your uniform of classics

You don’t have to change your entire wardrobe to embrace this trend. In fact, sticking with your go-to silhouettes and styles is the best approach. If you love straight-leg jeans, for example, why not pick up a scarlet pair? Almost all of our favorite denim brands have new styles in red this season. Try a neutral button-down on top, then add some flair with a thick belt or cummerbund to break up the look.
For a bolder statement, take a cue from Prada and Celine and try a “grape-tomato” color-blocking moment. Pair a red crewneck sweater with a purple pencil skirt and black Mary Janes for a punchy ensemble at the office, then swap in a pair of corsage sandals to transition to an evening look.
