A new connection is making future journeys across Dubai a whole lot easier
Good news for anyone planning to use Etihad Rail. Dubai has a new pedestrian bridge connecting its railway and Metro stations, making it easier to switch between the two without needing a taxi. And with moving walkways to help you along, the journey takes just five minutes.
Here’s where you’ll find it
The new 400-metre pedestrian bridge connects Etihad Rail’s Al Yalayis station with Jumeirah Golf Estates Metro Station on the Route 2020 extension of the Red Line. The enclosed, elevated walkway became largely accessible on Thursday, October 15, although some finishing work was still under way. Passengers can access the bridge using escalators or stairs, while travelators along the walkway make the journey easier, especially if you’re carrying luggage.
Don’t feel like walking? There’s another option
If you’d rather skip the five-minute walk, shuttle buses are also available between the two stations. The journey takes less than two minutes, and the service is currently free, giving passengers another easy way to transfer between Etihad Rail and Dubai Metro.
Making travel across the UAE easier
With Etihad Rail passenger services preparing to connect cities across the UAE, the new bridge is an important addition to Dubai’s transport network. It means passengers arriving at Al Yalayis will have a direct connection to Dubai Metro, making it easier to continue their journey around the city using public transport. And for anyone travelling with bags or heading out of Dubai by train, having a Metro station just a short walk away should make planning the journey that much simpler.
And if you’re planning a trip on Etihad Rail, it’s worth checking the fares before you travel. From ticket options to prices for journeys between the emirates, here’s your guide to Etihad Rail ticket prices.
