The Dominican Republic will host the 15th Ordinary Meeting of the Ibero-American and Caribbean Network for Regulatory Improvement on October 15 and 16, bringing together representatives from more than 20 countries and international organizations.
The forum, organized by the Ministry of Public Administration (MAP) at the Pontifical Catholic University Madre y Maestra (PUCMM), will provide a platform to exchange experiences and practical solutions for strengthening regulatory improvement systems.
Delegations from countries including Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Spain, Portugal and Uruguay, as well as Germany, the Philippines and the United Kingdom, will participate in person and virtually. Experts from international organizations and the private sector will also attend.
The agenda will address artificial intelligence and regulatory improvement, administrative simplification, evidence-based regulation, regulatory coherence, subnational governance and measuring regulatory results. The program includes keynote presentations, panels, technical discussions and practical workshops.
The event has technical support from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). The Dominican Republic is hosting the meeting as the coordinating country of the Ibero-American Network for 2026.
Public Administration Minister Sigmund Freund will present the Dominican Republic chapter in Regulatory Improvement in Latin America, the first collective publication to systematically examine regulatory improvement policies across the region.
The meeting will also feature international and regional experts, who will discuss strategies to simplify procedures, permits and licenses while avoiding the creation of new regulatory burdens.
