Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, on 13 October 2026, met with the Chairman of the Russia–ASEAN Business Council, Ivan Polyakov as well as with representatives of the Russian business community, in Moscow, on the sidelines of his Working Visit to Russia, to exchange views on strengthening ASEAN–Russia economic and business cooperation. They exchanged views on possible opportunities to further expand trade and investment, particularly in energy, food security and agriculture, supply-chain connectivity, and digital transformation. They also discussed ways to build on existing private-sector engagement through more regular business missions, business matching and investment partnerships to generate tangible commercial outcomes between ASEAN and Russia.
